There's an old cliched saying that goes something like "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life". Most tech support services give you a fish every time you stop by and wait for you to call back and wait on hold for 30 minutes before giving you another fish. Screw that. TopHat Help aims to teach you how to replicate what the helper is doing, as he fixes your issue, so if it ever comes up again, you know what to do.
TopHat Help does this by walking you through what we're doing, and why, on the phone. In the meantime, the helper will be operating your computer using remote desktop sharing. This allows both you and the helper to control your mouse and keyboard, so you can do things cooperatively.
Alternately, if you just want things fixed as quickly as possible, TopHat Help can focus solely on fixing the problem, and skip the explanations and walkthrough. It's up to you.
